Cruising On A Hawaiian Afternoon

The idea to even do a Hawaiian cruise came to me while lQQKing at a magazine that showed an ad
for Norwegian Cruise Lines and their new "Freestyle Cruising" concept. We go to Hawaii every year anyway, but this sounded fun and different and after 23 trips, I was lQQKing for something fun and different.

So I told my "Better Half" about it and got the responce I expected ... "A Cruise? NO!!" Did I mention he is not a fan of cruises? Well he isn't. It was going to be a challenge!

But that did not deter me. I knew that this, if it were planned well could be a great way to change the usual plans of our Hawaiian vacation. Of course I knew I had to mention this to our best friends, Ken and Chris, who have many many cruises under their belts, not only to help me plan this in the most fantastic way, but to make my "Better Half" .... want to do this. ;-)

So to make a loooong story short ... thanks to Ken and Chris for their incredible sense of organization, attention to detail and about a million emails ;-). They pulled this all together for 4 couples coming from 4 different parts of the country to have the time of their lives!!!!!

Please Note:
While this is an account of our cruise on a day to day basis as well as a review of the Norwegian Star,
we want to stress that this is "Our Cruise Reality". We do not wish it to be taken as anything more than that.
While we were waiting to take this cruise, some 10 months, we read a lot of cruise reviews people had written,
and we were always struck by the fact that they offered their opinions as "absolute truths" and not simply
as what their particular experience was. Which if I may add, really annoyed me. Why would you offer your experience,
(most of the reviews we read were somewhat negative) as the only way anyone else will ever experience it??
So please, take any review you read, including this one, as an opinion of a particular experience,
not what your experience may be like.
